Adam and Tracy Simpson

Raised in Pueblo, Colorado, Adam loved the outdoors from an early age. He spent many hiking miles backpacking Colorado’s southern mountain ranges, sleeping under the stars, and exploring the unknown. As a swimmer he always enjoyed the water and after his first whitewater rafting adventure, he was hooked! He attended New Mexico State University where he received a degree in Communication Studies. Although Adam grew up going to church, he did not see God as relevant to his life. However, during his first semester at NMSU, he met some guys from Cru (a Christian Ministry) that taught him about God and as he learned about Jesus, he made the decision to become a Christian. That decision forever changed his life as he has gotten to follow God on some of his greatest adventures of life! With his passion of exploring the outdoors, he has gotten to travel the world to some of the most wild places he has ever been - from the mountains and deserts of Central Asia, the Camino de Santiago in Spain, the volcanoes of Guatemala, the island of Haiti, to the backpacking and rafting adventures of Patagonia in Argentina and Chile, he has been left in awe of God’s beautiful creation. However, all of that pales in comparison to the many amazing opportunities where he has gotten to see God mightily at work, bringing hope and joy into people’s lives all over the world.

Raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tracy is a city girl who wonders how in the world she has ended up sleeping in tents and exploring the world in places that she never dreamed of visiting! 😃 She also attended New Mexico State University where she received degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology. With a passion for justice, she was on track to be a lawyer when during her senior year everything changed. She met a group of Christians who invited her to learn about Jesus and as she did, she was overwhelmed by His justice and His care for people. She came to know Jesus and was amazed at His grace and care for her, so she had to tell her friends!! As they came to know Jesus and experienced His work in their lives, Tracy decided that she wanted everyone to know and experience this changed life through Jesus. She met Adam in a Bible Study and they began dating a couple of months later, they decided to join the staff of Cru, and a few months later were married in 2001 . . . and that’s how this city girl came to sleeping in tents and exploring the world . . . and she would not change one single moment of it because she has encountered the living God in the most profound life-changing ways!
